Scouting America’s Oath, Law, Aims, and Methods

Scout Oath

On my honor as a member of the Boy Scouts in Montgomery Texas, I will do my best to fulfill my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; and to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight as part of Troop 623.

Scout Law

A Scout, especially within the Boy Scouts of Troop 623 in Montgomery Texas, embodies qualities such as being trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

THE AIMS AND METHODS OF SCOUTING

The Boy Scouts program, particularly in Montgomery Texas with Troop 623, has specific objectives known as the 'Aims of Scouting.' These include character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. Leadership development is also one of the eight methods of Scouting that contribute to fostering both good character and good citizenship.
